# 1. Question 10. Learning of the many different birth control methods was truly interesting to me. This chapter opened my eyes to many birth control options that my doctor had never before offered to me. One example of a birth control method that was particularly interesting was the diaphragm. I heard of diaphragms on older television sitcoms like, Roseanne and Seinfeld, but never had encountered someone that knew anything about them. I now question why my doctor did not offer this hormone free birth control method, or any of the other hormone free options discussed in the text to me when I began to wean my daughter from being exclusively breastfed. Learning that it was the modern version of ancient Greece’s empty pomegranate halves was slightly comical. Learning of different sexual responses was interesting. The portion that covered orgasms and if women could ejaculate was the most interesting sub-topic. My friends and I had wondered amongst ourselves if it was true that a woman could have a powerful fluid ejaculation. I was certain that because no one in my chosen peer group had never experienced a fluid ejaculation that it simply did not happen. This section of the text was able to put my question to rest, as well as explain the different results of orgasm that a woman can experience. The advice given on how to talk with my child about sex, will be the area of this class with the most lasting impact.
